How to grow healthy hair

The hairs cuticle needs to be taken care of in order for hair to grow. Trims every 6-8weeks will prevent split ends from migrating to the roots and falling out or breaking off mid shaft.

Contrary to rumors and popular opinion , hair needs to be shampooed and conditioned every week. Deep conditioning should be done once a month. A plastic cap maybe used in place of a hooded dryer, simply increase time for deep conditioner. Using a leave in detangling conditioner is very important because it allows hair to receive additional moisture and nutrients and it is also great as a heat protectant when hair is being blow dried or even roller or rod set. The leave in detangler also softens  the cuticle and allows easier combing. Always use a large tooth comb and begin combing in small sections and continue combing to the scalp, when detangling. Don't consistently apply heat to your hair several times a week. It will cause heat damage and eventually hair breakage. When applying relaxer to your hair at home be sure to apply conditioner to the ends of your hair to prevent overlap and chemical damage. 

Shampooing your hair weekly ensures your scalp is being stimulated ( helps promote circulation ( blood flow) and aids growth of hair. At bedtime wrap scarf or sleep on satin pillow case. Healthier hair needs a little more time and maintenance. But in the end it's worth it!
